RNLI Visit

What a fantastic morning we had in Year 2 today (18.1.19).
Jon from the  Royal National Lifeboat Institution came to visit us and he taught us all about water safety.

We had an assembly in the morning with Reception and Year 1. During this time Jon showed us some amazing rescue videos and we were very impressed. Most of the people working on the lifeboats are volunteers, amazing! Ashley dressed up as one of the crew members to show everyone what they would wear on a rescue mission.

A little bit later on Jon came to our classroom and talked to us about keeping ourselves safe at the seaside. He was very impressed with Year 2's knowledge of water safety and it was lovely to hear them making links to their trip to Weston Super-Mare.

Anisa had a chance to dress up this time! Anisa was showing us what an RNLI lifeguard would be wearing at the beach.

We carried our own rescue mission!

Always remember a red flag means that you MUST NOT enter the sea. The lifeguards have used their binoculars to keep a close eye on the sea and they have noticed that it is unsafe for people to enter.
